Introduction
Bullying is a very real and serious thing that happens to many kids around the world. Each year over 3.2 million students get bullied. Bullying can happen at any age but it is never okay. My group and I want it to stop and would like your help, but before you can help you need to know that facts behind it.
According to the DHHS 2014 statistics one in every three U.S students admit to being bullied at school. Bullying is known to peak in middle school and around 160000 teens skip class every day because of it. DHHS also reveled that 83 percent of girls and 79percent of boy are bullied either in school or online. This world-wide issue doesn't stop with kids skipping class, it has been known to lead to suicides.
The suicides related to bullying are high than anyone probably realizes. In recent studies it is shown that suicide is the third leading cause of deaths among adolescents. The CDC approximated that there are about 4,400 suicides every year and for every one suicide there are at least one-hundred that are attempted. Not everyone sees how dangerous bullying can be and that is what makes it ten times scarier.
Every form of bullying needs to be addressed and handled immediately. Having issues such as this one be brought forward is just the start of something better. Bullying is not something that should be taken lightly nor should it be left to be handled by one person. We as a society need to step up and prevent bullying for kids now and kids in the future.
